Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa was in Broken Arrow Thursday morning building an ADA-compliant wheelchair ramp for a 97-year-old Navy veteran with mobility issues.

The whole project was completed by volunteers and a Meals on Wheels representative said she worked with the client to figure out what would work best.
This project was part of Meals on Wheel's Home Safety program. The Home Safety program is designed to help support independent living by providing simple, minor home repairs. Something as simple as a grab bar in a bathroom or a functioning smoke detector can greatly reduce the risk of injury to our elderly or disabled clients, helping them maintain the ability to care for themselves longer and more safely than before.

Home health care goes beyond medical care—it's about supporting independence and enhancing quality of life. The work done by Meals on Wheels, like building wheelchair ramps and installing safety features, helps elderly individuals remain in their homes safely. Simple, thoughtful adjustments can empower seniors to live with dignity and confidence.
