Meals on Wheels seeking volunteers to deliver hot meals for Thanksgiving
Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa is seeking volunteers to help deliver hot meals on Thanksgiving Day.
More than 500 people rely on Meals on Wheels for a hot, Thanksgiving meal.
“We see families, friends, and even coworkers, who make meal delivery an annual tradition,” said Calvin Moore, president and CEO for Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa. “Participating in the Thanksgiving Day of service is a great way to kick off the holiday season and spread joy to homebound individuals who may not have family or friends to visit them on the holiday.”
Then, each volunteer will deliver individually-sized Thanksgiving dinners, including dessert, that will feed a family of three to six.
Delivery will end by 11 a.m., leaving plenty of time for volunteers to prepare for their own Thanksgiving celebrations.
As a gift of gratitude, Meals on Wheels will give each volunteer a pumpkin pie to take home.
Volunteers must have their own transportation and COVID safety measures will be in place.
